in the stage with a spikey guy walking on only breakable bricks, if you headbutt a brick then delete the others by walking into the sides, he starts to shorten his path as he should to not walk off the edge. if you delete them all he acts as if the bricks are still there and walks on the 4 block original path he was on, but on air. if you want screenies reply ok and i'll send you my discord username and DM them. asides that, AMAZING GAME! keep up the amazing work you beautiful being
A Maze for Owls
A Maze for Owls is a small exploration platformer with elements from Metroidvania games (you collect items to proceed further, but there is no fighting). You must collect 32 ancestral feathers to learn to fly.
IF THE KEYBOARD INPUT DOES NOT WORK, CLICK THE SCREEN. That should set the focus on the game canvas and let you use the keyboard.
- Arrow keys: move left and right
- Z: Jump (once learned)
- Z on air: double jump (once learned)
- Z on air + down arrow: head thump (once learned)
- Enter: pause
YOU ARE A YOUNG OWL.
A YOUNG, SIMPLE-MINDED
OWL. UNLIKE THE OTHER
OWLS, YOU ARE TOO
STUPID TO LEARN TO FLY.
HOWEVER, RUMORS SAY
THAT SOMEWHERE ON
EARTH THERE EXISTS A
MAZE FOR OWLS LIKE YOU.
IF YOU GO THERE AND
COLLECT ALL THE
ANCESTRAL FEATHERS, YOU
MIGHT LEARN TO FLY.
Tested on Opera and Firefox, should work on Chrome and Chromium. Not tested on Edge, definitely does not work on Internet Explorer and very likely not on Safari, either.
A little note on the sound effects:
I used some cc0 licensed sound effects from freesound.org to create the background sound-thing.

waoh ! just load the game and its just amazing ! the atmopheric audio is great the controls spot on and live the simplistic but clear pixelated style. I want a windows build to add on my games best collection !
I had fun playing this game, both the controls and style are great. The only downside was the loud wings flapping. That said, good work on the game! :)
The spritework on this is really fantastic and the really compact level design is fun. Great use of sound, too. Thanks for this!
Excellent execution on this, I would have played much longer past this version of the game! (And that ending, ooooh )
I liked more the Retro cover of previous.
