Time to Panic! is a short platformer with intentionally slippery and frustrating controls. You play as some random guy whose bank account has been hacked, and you must stop the hacker before your bank account goes dry. Why? If the balance of your account hits zero, then the bank refuses to revive you if you die. Yes, that is perfectly cromulent logic.

The game was made within 10 days for Gamedev.js Jam 2025, so don't expect miracles, 'cause there sure ain't any.

Controls:

(Gamepad controls inside parentheses)

  • Arrow keys/WASD (dpad/left stick): Move
  • Space/Z/J/left mouse button (button A): Jump (press twice to double jump)
  • Escape/Enter (uh... that menu button thing on modern Xbox pads): pause
  • Enter/Space (button A or  that menu button thing described above): accept stuff in the menus.

The physics makes this game not enjoyable. It's hard to control and the platforming is too precise. The player is also huge and the platforms are small. Worst of all, you bounce off walls.

Also, the timing of moving platforms work against you and it's a timed game. Enemies can't be killed either.

I enjoy the concept and art style but it's too frustrating to try to beat.

this is really hard compared to your other games ! obviously its due to the slippiness of the player movement and landing making it difficult to accurately judge ...

will persevere for now but cant see me beating it ...

Nice little game to play, thank you!
